* Young Musician II (ages 11 - 16) and Artist (ages 17-33) categories may also opt to learn and perform the optional specially commissioned work by Pulitzer-Prizewinning composer Tyshawn Sorey for the 2025 Nashville International Chopin Piano Competition, whose performance will form the basis for awarding the $2,000 Audience Choice Award. The score will be sent to competitors once they are admitted to the live competition so they can decide if they wish to learn and perform it. It does NOT count towards the allotted time of the performance so you do not have to shorten your existing program.

Note: All Repertoire performed in the Screening Round must also be performed in the live Competition except for the (possible) non-Chopin audition work allowed for the 6 - 10 age category.
