* Young Musician II (ages 11 - 15) and Artist (ages 16 - 22) categories may also opt to learn and perform the optional "Nashville Nocturne", specially commissioned from composer Ashot Ariyan for the 2023 Nashville International Chopin Piano Competition, and whose performance will form the basis for awarding the $2,000 Audience Choice Award. The score will be sent to competitors once they are admitted to the live competition so they can decide if they wish to learn and perform it. It does NOT count towards the allotted time of the performance so you do not have to shorten your existing program.

Note: All Repertoire performed in the Screening Round must also be performed in the live Competition except for the (possible) non-Chopin audition work allowed for the 6 - 10 age category.
