Dear Gverdtsiteli-Abakelia was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, in 2004. She graduated with distinction from the Z. Paliashvili Central Music School for Gifted Children in 2022, where she studied piano under the guidance of Maia Beridze. During her studies, she actively participated in numerous school concerts, showcasing her artistry from an early age.


Currently, Dea is pursuing her Bachelor’s degree (4th year) at the Tbilisi V. Sarajishvili State Conservatoire in the class of Professor Nino Tchirakadze. She regularly takes part in the Conservatoire’s concert life and has been praised for her expressive and refined interpretations.


Dea is the winner of many international and national piano competitions, including First Prize at the Meliton Balanchivadze Young Musicians' International Competition, First Prize at the American Protégé International Concerto Competition, Second Prize and the Audience Sympathy Award at the Tbilisi International Contest of Young Pianists, Third Prize at the Sviatoslav Richter Second Online International Piano Competition, and Second Prize at the IPM – International Piano Masters.


Dea is a Toradze International Music Festival scholarship recipient.
