SUMMER PROGRAM FOR GIFTED PIANISTS

Teplice, Czechia
Chopin in Bohemia brings together nine internationally distinguished pianists and conductors for one week of intensive musical work in the Czech spa town where Beethoven and Goethe famously met. Each participant receives five private lessons, performs in one of the daily masterclasses open to all, has the chance to perform with orchestra, and studies within a tradition stretching back to the great conservatories of Europe. Twenty places are available.
ORCHESTRAL EXPERIENCE & CONCERTO COMPETITION

Prepared participants take part in concerto readings with orchestra, gaining essential experience working with a conductor and professional ensemble

An optional concerto competition is offered during the program. Standard concerto repertoire is permitted

Winners perform in a Gala Concert with the North Czech Philharmonic

The winner automatically advances to the Nashville International Chopin Piano Competition (NICPC) 2027
MASTERCLASSES
Participants engage in intensive masterclasses led by world-renowned faculty, focusing on musical depth, stylistic integrity, and artistic individuality. Sessions are open to all participants, creating a shared learning environment of the highest artistic level.
PRIVATE INSTRUCTION
Each participant receives five private lessons, individually tailored to their repertoire and artistic development. Lessons are scheduled throughout the week to allow time for focused practice between sessions. supporting both solo and concerto preparation.
PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES
Participants perform in masterclasses and recitals held in historic venues, offering the experience of presenting music in spaces deeply connected to Europe's artistic heritage. Venues include the Concert Hall of the House of Culture (Dům kultury Teplice), Garden House Teplice (Zahradní dům), Great Hall of the Conservatory and School of Music, and the Concert Hall of the Láznē Teplice.

ACCOMMODATION
Preferred hotel: Beethoven Hotel & Spa
A world-renowned historic hotel in Teplice, offering elegant accommodations, spa facilities, and a setting closely tied to the city's musical tradition. Admitted participants will be given a special Chopin in Bohemia booking code to secure the best available discount rate offered. Full room and board is available with meals included at the spa's cafes.
CULTURAL EXPERIENCE
The program includes a sightseeing excursion in Prague, providing participants with the opportunity to explore one of Europe's most significant cultural capitals. Prague, the "City of a Hundred Spires," is a remarkably preserved medieval capital. Highlights include the massive Prague Castle (with St. Vitus Cathedral), the iconic 14th-century Charles Bridge, and the Old Town Square, home to the 600-year-old Astronomical Clock chime. Participants will have the chance to view some of these highlights and to wander the cobblestone streets of Mala Strana and nearby areas.
