Zhiqian Jeremy Lyu was born in Shanghai in 2009 and is currently a first-year undergraduate student in the piano department of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP). In February 2025, at the age of 15, he distinguished himself among hundreds of applicants worldwide and was admitted to France’s most prestigious music academy with unanimous jury approval, ranking first. He also became the only undergraduate student admitted globally that year by Denis Pascal, one of the academy’s most renowned piano professors. After three rounds of intense scholarship competition, he was awarded the “International Excellence Scholarship” worth 10,000 euros by the Rhine Gold Foundation, becoming one of only two recipients.
From 2015 to August 2025, he attended the Middle School Affiliated to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, studying under Associate Professor Kuanwen Wang. He received the Niu Ende Scholarship for three consecutive years. Zhiqian is the first student in the school’s history to be admitted to this top international institution at the age of 15, and one of the few Chinese students accepted into CNSMDP without any prior musical training in France.
In October 2023, he won the Gold Medal in the Young Musician II category of the 1st Nashville Chopin International Piano Competition to great accolades. In January 2024, he was invited by Apsinthion Artists, an American artist management company, and signed as one of their artists.
