Murasaki Matsutani is an eight-year-old pianist born in Tokyo, Japan, and raised in Ontario, Canada. She started playing the piano at the age of five. She recently won the second prize in the under 12 year old category at the 3rd Jeune Chopin international competition held in Lugano, Switzerland, in January 2023. She was also invited to play at the concerts, a tribute to Nelson Freire, in Lausanne, Switzerland, in August, 2023. She is currently studying under the guidance of Michael Berkovsky and Coral Solomon.
